EMG

As recognized experts in orthopaedic care, Middle Georgia Orthopaedics is committed to providing patients with access to the latest treatments and advanced techniques, such as electrodiagnostic testing. We provide on-site diagnostic services using the most current and sophisticated tools to help your physician determine the exact cause of your problems and how best to treat you.

Whether you have radiating neck pain, back discomfort, physical numbness and weakness, muscle fatigue, or muscle cramping, our experts provide conservative methods and techniques for restoring your health and function.

In order to discover the source of your nerve and muscle pain, our doctors will perform an electrodiagnostic consultation. The test consists of a comprehensive neuromusculoskeletal exam, which tests how well signals travel along a nerve and helps find the cause of abnormal nerve function.

Electromyography is the study and recording of intrinsic electrical properties of skeletal muscles. This is carried out with a needle electrode. EMG results reflect not only on the integrity of the functioning connection between a nerve and its innervated muscle but also on the integrity of a muscle itself. A few prime examples are disc disease, advanced nerve compression, ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), neuropathy, and so on.

At Middle Georgia Orthopaedics, our goal is to effectively treat your bodily aches and pains and return you to enjoying your favorite activities.

If you are experiencing any of the symptoms listed above, our dedicated physiatrists will help find a solution to your ailments and help you get back to enjoying activity again.
